Wilder vs. Harrison: The COMMENTS

deontay7By Tony Crooks: First of all, I am English and I am proud of my heritage and no comment will ever take that away from me, full stop. Despite this, boxing is about boxing and boxers are about boxers. If a boxer is good and he comes from Outer Mongolia or the North Pole, so what, too much emphasis is put on where a pugilist is born. Whether he is white, black, yellow or orange it does not matter to me, all that interests me is the skills that they possess.

Heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) beat Audley Harrison at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK and that was what was expected of him. I don’t care what anyone says, Wilder proved absolutely nothing. If he was British, I would say the same thing. What I am unable to understand are the keyboard cowards that make comments.

Audrey, Fraudley. How long would any of you last in the ring with any professional boxer? Not long is the answer. All that I hear is Wilder fights bums and so forth and Tyson fury will get knocked out if he faced anybody that could punch. Every boxer that I know and I know many and all are absolute gentlemen, yet the comments that I read are not those that reflect the true personalities of the boxers themselves.

You will always get one that uses an offensive term that deliberately insults somebody’s intelligence. The word “idiot” is described as somebody with an IQ of about 25 or under and a mental age of less than 3 years. The art of boxing is about just that, colour or nationality does not come into it. Boxing is about the best beating the best, silly comments don’t beat anyone, only those that write them.
