Guerrero’s dad: Mayweather regrets accepting the fight with “The Ghost”

mayweather77By Chris Williams: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero’s dad thinks he smells fear coming from Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father Floyd Sr. and his uncle Roger Mayweather and he thinks Mayweather Jr. is now regretting having accepted the fight against the 29-year-old Guerrero.

Guerrero’s dad said: “I think they have a little regret taking it [the fight with Guerrero]. That’s why they’re talking a lot of smack; that’s why he’s got his dad in his corner now; that’ why he’s got two guys [in his corner]; him and his uncle now against me because they know what’s coming. Guerrero’s coming at him. Mayweather’s a great fighter but he talks all big. The word is out that he was in protective custody. He was in there with the snitches. When you’re in there like that, you’re not being a man. I’ve been in jail a couple of times for fighting, but I did my time like a real man. You’re not going to cry for 30 days in jail; that’s baby nuts. You’ve got to let your balls hang out and don’t try about it. Be a man, a real man. Do your time; no crying to the judge. Floyd Sr. talked a lot of smack. You tell him we’ll take a little walk and we’ll handle it like real men. We’ll do it out in the parking lot by ourselves. Guerrero stands for warrior and that’s what we are, warriors.”

I don’t think Mayweather Jr. or his family is regretting taking the fight against Guerrero because this is the type of opponent that Mayweather has already done well against. If Mayweather Jr. was dead certain that he could win this fight he wouldn’t have accepted it. He’s seen Guerrero’s fighting style and noticed how slow he is and how he lacks power for the welterweight division. It doesn’t get any better than this for Mayweather.
