chisora4567By Mark Havey: It wasn’t long ago that we saw David Price slump to the floor following a wild swing from Tony Thompson. There was no doubt that Price was in no fit state to continue. Some people have said the punch was lucky and desperate. It was neither. It was heavyweight boxing.

Dereck Chisora is looking to get his career back on track. He was suspended and brutally knocked out by David Haye It wasn’t long ago that we saw David Price slump to the floor following a wild. He has his sights set on big things, and big heavyweight. The sun.co.uk have quoted him saying, “David should train hard and do this schmuck quickly. I expect him to win the rematch. Me against him would be a really great fight for the summer”

It could be a good fight. Chisora is brave and always turns up to fight. Everybody loves a good domestic clash. I’m sure Chisora is the last person on the mind of David Price right now. He admitted to being deeply embarrassed after getting knocked out in front of his home crowd.

One day Price will look back at that defeat and give it credit for changing him as a fighter for the better. the same thing happened to Lennox Lewis and Muhammad Ali was badly hurt by Henry Cooper. Price needs to learn patience. I have no doubt that he felt the weight of expectation from his fans. he has become known as a knockout king that ends fights early. But the knock outs will come. He doesn’t need to go after them. That defeat will have taught him to take it slow.

The defeat doesn’t change a thing for Price. Hardcore fans see it as a blip that has put him back 6 months. No one really sees Thompson as the better boxer. He deserves credit because everyone said he couldn’t do it and he did. He made many boxing writers fear a pay cut or sacking. It put a smile on my face to see him prove so many wrong. But he has made a big mistake by agreeing to a rematch.
