wilder55By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten American heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) says he’s only been in training camp for 2 weeks in getting ready for his fight this month against Britain’s Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK.

The incredibly powerful Wilder doesn’t see it as being a problem because he keeps himself in tip top shape and his training camps are merely used to fine tune his skills to get him ready for whoever he’s facing. He doesn’t need a ton of time to go over and over the game plan he’s going to use against the 6’6” Audley because he plans on going out there and running him over as fast as possible.

Deontay told uk.fighthype.com “I have been in camp like two weeks now…I don’t go in camp to get in shape. I’m already in shape. I’m already ready even out of camp.”

Deontay expects Audley to either get the case of nerves where he doesn’t throw anything or he’ll run from him after getting a small taste of his incredible power in the 1st round. However, Deontay is really hoping that Audley comes to fight him because he doesn’t see him as having the chin or the power to stay in there with him for any length of time before he mows the tall Brit down with a massive right hand shot.

Oddly enough, Deontay says he hopes Audley extends him the full 10 rounds because he’d like to showcase his jab and left hook and work on the those weapons exclusively to get some rounds in and further develop that part of his game.

If Audley can take him the distance, Deontay wants to focus on using those punches to get in some good work. However, he says he’s not going to just let Audley hang around for the sake of getting in some badly needed rounds. If he sees an opening for him to land one of his big right hand bombs, he’s going to take it and knock Audley out.
