Deontay: I’m going to end Audley Harrison’s career

wilder364By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) sees himself putting Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) out of his misery this month in their fight on April 27th. Although Audley has made retirement threats in the past before and after defeats, but this time Wilder feels there will be no coming back.

Audley will have to retire once Deontay knocks him out with one of his hard right hands in their fight at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK.

Deontay said to RingTV “I’m going to put his [Audley] career to rest because when I hit Audley Harrison the right way, that may be the best punch that ends up ending his career.”

What is Deontay talking about? He doesn’t need to hit Audley perfectly to knock him clean out. The 6’7” Deontay is so powerful that even if he hits him with a glancing blow, he’ll likely have Audley splayed out on the canvas in a heap and it’ll be a long time before he picks himself up from this knockout.

Deontay has the kind of power that will persuade Audley that it’s best that he hang up his gloves for good. If Deontay puts everything he has into one of his right hands, we’re likely going to see Audley poleaxed in the 1st round with one of those kind of knockouts where he’s out cold before he even hits the canvas.

It would be kind of like Julian Jackson’s one-punch knockout of Terry Norris. It’s best that Audley go down immediately because if he just hangs there out on his feet, Wilder will have an opportunity to finish him off with another right hand that will knock him senseless.

I feel that the Wilder-Harrison fight should be the main event on this card because the Amir Khan vs. Julio Diaz fight is pretty much a worthless fight where Khan’s promoters at Golden Boy has picked out a safe opponent for him to fight instead of someone that is competitive with him. Audley and Deontay deserve to be the main event because it’s the biggest heavyweight match-up in the UK right now.
