Huck not interested in Eddie Chambers fight

chambers343By Allan Fox: WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (36-3, 18 KO’s) made it clear today that he’s not in the least interested in facing former heavyweight world title challenger Eddie Chambers (35-2-1, 25 KO’s) in a fight in the near future. Chambers, 30, tried to call Huck out on twitter today, and it got kind of ugly with both guys trash talking each other.

Huck said on his twitter “You [Chambers] are and remain a zero. I’m the world champion… You’re a janitor. You’re too weak, you have to prove yourself first. Dog whom thou wilt go ko come to me.”

Chambers responded: “Why don’t these cruiserweight champs ever unify?.. Because they all p**** hiding in the homeland! Lol! Let’s make this happen for the fans!!! Duck u stay hiding in Germany. You know what happens if I go over there.. Lol! Huck, stop talking unless you willing to fight, you clown.. I beat HWs, you easy work! I fought way better opposition then you!.. Ill beat u easy with 1 arm!!”

It would be a good fight if Huck were to agree to fight Chambers because he’s a huge step up in class from the guys Huck has been fighting for the most part. As a cruiserweight, Huck has faced several good fighters in Firat Arslan, Denis Lebedev, and Ola Ofolabi. The remainder of Huck’s opposition at cruiserweight has left a lot to be desired. Chambers would have to be considered to be right up there in the same class as Arslan, Lebedev and Afolabi.

Chambers is coming off of a controversial 12 round unanimous decision loss to Tomasz Adamek last year in June in a fight where Chambers injured his left arm in the 2nd round, and was forced to fight the remainder of the bout using just his right. It appeared to be more than enough because he made Adamek look bad in landing with clean right hands the entire fight while switching back and forth from orthodox to southpaw to change between jabbing and throwing power shots. Oddly enough, it worked because he was able to hit Adamek at will and control the fight.

What hurts Chambers here is his inactivity. He’s only fought twice in the last three years since losing to IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko by a 12th round TKO in 2010.
