frampton22By Dominic Sauboorah: Carl Frampton just showed how good he is after he knocked out knock out artist EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez last night at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. The atmosphere was electric and Frampton was clearly spurred on by the crowd.

The talented Irishman did have to come through some rough times, however showed just how good he is at adjusting to a fight as he ended up landing the better punches and in the 9th caught the Spaniard with a devastating straight right hand that landed flush on Martinez’s chin. Martinez did want to fight on, however his legs deserted him and was unable to continue.

Carl Frampton successfully proved his main critic wrong, who many people know, who emphasized his hatred for the Irishman stating how he didn’t have great power and even resorted to swearing in his last article, pathetic. Either way Frampton successfully shut him up by stopping the knockout artist that had never been stopped before.

This kid is the new sporting hero for Northern Ireland to idolize. It’s too soon to say he’s the next Barry McGuigan but if he continues the way he’s going the worlds his oyster and at this rate it wouldn’t surprise me if he were to get a world title shot by the end of this year.

The boxing public want to see Quigg vs. Frampton but with all due respect Quigg needs Frampton now, not the other way around. Also Frampton hasn’t got power? His critic is without a doubt eating his words, like he normally does.
