wilder2By Steven Ocallaghan: Malik Scott, Deontay Wilder and Amir Mansour, all undefeated American heavyweights who have between them amassed a perfect 79-0 record between them. Amazingly not one of these guys has fought anybody of any decent ranking yet.

Even more amazing is the fact that Deontay Wilder has managed to get a WBA 9 ranking which I find incredible considering Wilder’s last fight, the fight that got him the ranking was against the completely out of shape Mat Greer.

Amir Mansour at 40 has boxed just 48 rounds in a 17 fight career, so we can effectively rule him out.

Malik Scott in a career spanning 12 years has amassed a record of 35-0. A record that looks impressive but on closer inspection really has only been fighting 3rd tier fighters albeit better fighters than the new WBA 9, I know incredible, has faced.

At least now Scott seams intent on making a go of it now by taking on the big punching Ukrainian fighter Vyacheslav Glazkov 14-0. Even with just 14 fights under his belt, Glazkov has faced a better level of fighter than the 3 undefeated Yanks put together.

With a decent stoppage of another American Tor Hamer, Glazkov could derail Scott’s charge.

With 3 British heavyweights in the top 15 in the world, David Haye ,Tyson Fury and David Price, all 3 have faced I higher level of fighter than the aforementioned. David Haye had won titles at 2 different weights in a shorter fight time than Wilder.

You can say all you want about the 3 Brits and there is one writer who does, they are stepping up to the plate now unlike Wilder, but at least Malik Scott has taken charge and trying to move forward.
