floyd6By Gerardo Granados: A friend of mine believes Floyd cannot take the punishment of not only fight six times in a row but to endure training for six fights, and that it could weakened him to the point that he would cautiously cherry pick his opponents. My friend believes that if he reached a deal for so many millions he will have to deliver but his body at 36 years of age may betray him.

There are some exceptions to the rule but we don’t get to see many Archie Moore´s or George Foreman´s boxing epics. Bernard Hopkins hasn´t officially retired yet but he has not fought for a long time. The Juan Manuel Marquez´s types of boxers are not common these days.

Can the reader tell any differences between the current Floyd compared to the one, who fought versus Oscar De la Hoya and Genaro Hernandez? Definitely he has lost a step, but he´s still great over all skill measured; but at age 36 can you expect him to deal with the injuries, even more the ones on his hands the way he did in the past. Mayweather Jr. retired for a span of two years and has fought once a year since his comeback, now he pretends to be as active as he was when he was only 22 years old.

I would like to see him take the next fighters: instead of Guerrero, Tim Bradley; Danny Garcia and Lucas Matthysse at welter; Saul Alvarez at light middleweight; and Sergio Martinez at middleweight. But that is only a wish because I sincerely don’t believe it will happen.

Floyd has the skills to handle many of the current top welterweight and light middleweight contenders but will he withstood the punishment of facing six in a row in a span of thirty months? My friend thinks he could take on a couple of easy opponents, previously groomed as dangerous fighters who can pull the upset; but will boxing fans be aware of this?

I believe that for Floyd to satisfactory accomplish his multimillion TV deal he will have to defeat not only six opponents, but also defeat Kronos and even train and fight with pain on his hands. Do the readers believe Floyd fists will resist?
