Brook vs. Alexander on May 18th in Atlantic City, New Jersey

alexander4334By Scott Gilfoid: The May 18th fight between IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13 KO’s) and Kell Brook (29-0, 19 KO’s) has been moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN. He says that Alexander’s trainer Kevin Cunningham is reporting that it’ll be taking place there.

It’s unclear if this is in fact true because they’ve been talking about it taking place at the Convention Center, Washington, District of Columbia, USA. The Alexander-Brook fight will be on the undercard of the Lamont Peterson vs. Lucas Matthysse fight, and the reason why they were putting the fight in Washington, DC is because that’s where Peterson is from and he draws huge crowds.

It doesn’t make sense to place the fight in New Jersey because Alexander’s from Missouri, and it’s not going to draw flies if they stage in Atlantic City.

For most boxing fans who will be watching the fight on television, they won’t care where it’s staged as long as the fight takes place. I’m just hoping neither of these guys get injured again because we’ve already seen Brook suffer an ankle injury that postponed the fight, and now Alexander has a biceps injury.

They need to get this fight over with so that the winner can move on to bigger and better things. The winner of the fight could be in line for a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., and that’s why it’s highly important they get the fight over with in this lifetime because you can’t keep stringing this fight out if one of these guys wants to get a big money fight with Mayweather Jr.

I see Alexander as definitely wining this fight. Brook and his promoter Eddie Hearn are great speakers, and they’ll tell you all day long how they’re going to beat Alexander, but it’s too bad talking doesn’t win fights. If it did, Brook would be the world champion many times over because he believes he’s destined to be a world champion.

I see him fight and I have clue what he’s talking about because he barely beat Carson Jones last year in July. I had the fight scored a draw, and I thought Brook looked awful. It’s weird though when a fighter Brook is bragging about himself like he just found a cure for cancer, and you look at his fights you just wonder why is he thinking this way when he can’t even beat Carson Jones without controversy.
