Who should Mayweather fight next?

mayweather23There has been a lot of talk recently about May 4th and who Floyd “Money” Mayweather (43-0, 26 KO’s) will be fighting, and before you say it I know there has been a lot of articles posted on boxingnews24 about this matter but I’m just throwing my view in the mix as a boxing fan.

So, as far as who he should fight next and who there is to fight, it’s a pretty talent rich division but Robert Guerrero has been the name on everybody’s lips, along with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and even Tim Bradley. As far as who deserves the shot, I got to go with Guerrero; he’s come off some good wins against top fighters lately, and seems to have put himself in the position to earn a shot.

Alvarez: well, this is really the one everybody wants to see, but has he really earned the shot? You have to say NO he has not, although I think this to be the better fight than Mayweather-Guerrero. Also, Tim Bradley has the WBO title, and has just come off a big win against Manny Pacquiao. This fight also makes sense on paper.

To round my thoughts up, here is what I think: Mayweather should take the fight with Guerrero first and send him packing, and then Golden Boy Promotions should stage a fight with Canelo and one of the other top fighters, and then the winner fights Floyd. That’s to say if Canelo keeps winning. I’m getting a bit ahead of myself there, sorry.

As far as Bradley goes, he does hold a legit belt, and he is worth fighting just for that fact alone. That would be the easiest of the three guys I have mentioned for a fight with Floyd, but who wants to see him fight Bradley? Not me.

Get back to me with your views, guys. I can’t wait for the year’s boxing to get in full swing.
