Fury to Wladimir: If you fight Solis then you’re a P***y! Fight me!

fury5445By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like British heavyweight Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) is up in arms at the thought that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 50 KO’s) may pass him over on April 6th and instead fight former 2004 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KO’s) instead. #4 WBC Fury feels it should be him that gets the crack at Wladimir on May 6th, and not the #11 IBF Solis.

Fury said on his twitter “Klitschko, if you fight Solis you’re a p***y! Fight me! Solis is a fat S***. [He] got KO’d by Vitali in 2.”

Here’s the deal, Fury. It’s not about how badly you want the fight or how much higher you’re ranked than the talented Solis. It’s about putting backsides in the seats in Germany. Wladimir wants to sell out a stadium in Germany, and he probably won’t be able to do that if he chooses you because you’re just not well known in Germany like Solis is, get it? The fact of the matter is Solis has already fought in Germany 10 times during his pro career and the German fans love him to death. He fought Vitali in March 2011, and while he was blown after injuring his right knee, the fight was a huge success in Cologne, Germany. That’s why Wladimir might choose Solis to fight instead of a less popular fighter. It’s not personal; it’s about the green stuff. Now if you’d just get a clue and stop fighting all of those soft jobs, you might get a fight. You wouldn’t open your yap to campaign for the fights because they’d be coming to you, but you’re a blow it.

You see, Fury makes this too easy for the Klitschkos to ignore him because he’s fought all these dreadful fodder opponents during his career. Instead of stepping it up to take on the talented guys like Bryant Jennings and Kubrat Pulev, Fury has been content to fight guys like 41-year-old Martin Rogan and 36-year-old Vinny Maddalone. Those fights have kept Fury winning but they’ve also prevented him from building a name for himself because he’s not fought the guys that he should have been fighting to get better known. So, it’s like that. Fury only has himself to blame for Wladimir passing him over for this fight.
