Fury: If the Klitschkos won’t fight me, I’ll face UFC champion Cain Velazquez

fury1By Scott Gilfoid: Having no luck in getting either of the Klitschko brothers to agree to fight him, 6’9” unbeaten heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) is turning the attention to MMA and is calling out the UBF heavyweight champion 6’1’ Cain Velazquez for a fight on twitter. Fury wants to fight Velazquez, although it’s highly unlikely that Fury is talking about an MMA fight.

I think he wants to fight Velazquez in a boxing match, which is no big deal. It’s not revelation that MMA fighters, even the best ones, can’t compete with actual boxers in fights. It’s a different sport, so Fury isn’t taking any risks in challenging the 6’1” UFC heavyweight champion Velazquez, because this guy is more of wrestler than a boxer. Wrestling is Velaquez’s background and he doesn’t look good at all when he’s in the standing position throwing punches.

Fury said this on his twitter: “I challenge u [Cain Velazquez] to fight all in in a cage or ring! It could be billed as the man vs midget lets get it on! U small stif idiot. Cain valasquez is a little midget on steds bring it on I’ll fight. Not a man born from his mother can beat me! Contact Hennessy sports! If the klitchkos r 2 much of pussies to fight me then I’ll go & fight the MMA heavyweight champ at least he is game. Wouldn’t last 2 rounds! Make this happen as all boxers a s***houses bar me a true fighting man. I hope he dose I’ll smash all of them f**** jokers. I’m the new baddest man on the planet I’ll smash @cainmma. Let’s get it on! U all herd it hear first if @cainmma has ball to fight me then lets go.”

Fury says he’ll fight Velazquez in the “Cage or the ring”, but you know and I know Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy won’t allow him to fight Velazquez in a cage because the fight would be over in one minute. As soon as Velazquez grabs a whole of Fury, he’ll take him down to the canvas and then either force him to submit or ground and pound until the referee has to save Fury. It takes ages to learn all those MMA submission holds and to wrestle, and Fury is just a tall skinny guy that knows how to box and who doesn’t have much power to speak of.
