wilder23By Scott Gilfoid: Tired of the constant bellyaching from fans that will likely never accomplish as much as him, the unbeaten heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (26-0, 26 KO’s) unleashed the dogs of war briefly in sending a message to his critics today on twitter.

Wilder said “Why do people that will never do or accomplish half the stuff you’ve [I’ve] done in a lifetime have the biggest mouths?”

Yes, it’s very true, Mr. Wilder. There’s so much jealousy coming from some of these fans that they don’t how to properly process their hateful emotions and so they open their yaps to lash out. Of course it doesn’t change anything because Wilder keeps having great success with his promising career.

Right now Wilder is on his way to breaking the consecutive knockout record of 44 set by Lamar Clark. Wilder is only 19 knockouts away from that mark and it’s going to be interesting to see if he can break the record. I think he will.

Wilder will be fighting on January 19th in a scheduled10 round bout at the Centro de Convenciones, Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. Matt Greer has been mentioned as a possible opponent for that date, but he’s not been confirmed as of yet.

There’s a possibility that Wilder could take on a better heavyweight than Greer, although it’s not a big deal even if he faces Greer. This is a good stay busy fight for Wilder, who was asked on short notice if he would be interested in taking the fight and he said yes.

Wilder just wants to fight as often as he can in 2013 so he can keep improving and moving forward to an eventual title shot. What a lot of boxing fans don’t understand is that Wilder had only 21 amateur fights when he went into the Olympic trials. Wilder had very few fights as an amateur when he went into the 2008 Olympics and won a bronze medal.

So what Wilder is basically doing is similar to what Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. did by fighting a ton fights as a pro to make up for what he didn’t get as an amateur. As every knows, Chavez Jr. didn’t start fighting quality opponents until he had over 40 fights. So Wilder is way ahead of him, and by the time Wilder is nearing his 40th fight he’s going to be an incredible fighter and taking over the division.
