Angel Garcia: Khan’s chin turns to glass when he gets hit

khan5634By Scott Gilfoid: Angel Garcia, the father of WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia, is still gloating about his son’s 4th round TKO victory over the previously highly hyped Amir Khan. Angel thinks Khan doesn’t have a chin and doesn’t know how to cover up properly to defend against a left hook the way he should.

Speaking with thaboxingvoice.com, Angel said “He [Danny] beat Khan and exposed him for what he was. He aint got no chin…He’s got his chin straight up in the sky where it turns into glass.”

Khan actually was already exposed by Breidis Prescott in a 1st round knockout loss in 2008, and Khan never attempted to avenge the defeat for some reason. A lot of boxing fans think Prescott has Khan’s number and would continue to knock him out each time they fought, even though Prescott has struggled against other fighters since the loss.

Styles make fights again, and he really blasted Khan apart in their fight five years ago.
It’s going to be interesting to see how long Golden Boy Promotions can keep Khan from getting knocked out again this time.

The last time it took four years before Khan was knocked out again, but I don’t know if they can keep Khan going that long before he gets planted again. Khan says he wants to fight Garcia this year to try and avenge his loss. I’ll believe that when I see it because I think Golden Boy will look to steer Khan into safer waters so they can try and make a star out of him. Putting him back in with Danny could ruin those dreams.

I think Khan will be alright as long as Golden Boy keeps matching him against smaller fighters from the lightweight division like they did in his last fight. If they can do with Khan what they’re doing with their young star WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez by matching him against guys from a division below him instead of his own weight class, Khan will win for a long time to come. Heck, he may even get the bout he’s been dreaming about against Floyd Mayweather Jr. if Golden Boy can match him carefully enough.
