The precious second that transformed Pacquiao and Marquez

marquez562By Frank (Frankly) Livingstone: It has been a week since that fateful night. Wow, we got what we wanted in that fight. Two knockdowns with both fighters enduring a knockdown each in the process up to 2:59 of round six. Manny Pacquiao was more aggressive in this fight and the damage he inflicted is clearly shown from the bloody face and a suspected broken nose on Marquez.

Surely, the end is coming soon rather than later. Then 2:59 of Round six, the unexpected happened. A scene that would forever changed the life of both fighters one second before the end of Round six.

MANNY PACQUIAO got hit and went face down from a devastating punch from MARQUEZ. A stunned crowd and the image of Mitt Romney’s jaw dropping and seeing Jinkee’s crying and rushing to his husband’s aide are the unforgettable images of the fight.

It was a great fight with each one giving it all to get a definitive result to this eight years saga of their rivalry. Pacquiao was looking to end all doubts that he deserved to win the last 3 fights and was on his way on fulfilling it. Marquez was trying to prove the same thing, although it did not seem to look good until the final second of Round 6.

That final second has transformed Juan Manual Marquez quickly from a wounded warrior facing defeat to one of the greatest victory of his career. A three point play with one second left to break the deadlock in a NBA Championship in game 7 of a NBA title match.

It was indeed a fairy tale ending for Marquez if he chooses to hang up his gloves. As for Pacquiao, he put up a great fight but his upcoming dream fight with Floyd Mayweather has not been put to sleep. ONE SECOND TO GO.
