Pacquiao should drop his political career and bible studies and focus on boxing 100%

pac5634By Jason Kim: One big advantage that Juan Manuel Marquez had over Manny Pacquiao last Saturday night that enabled him to KO him in the 6th round was that Marquez doesn’t have nearly as full of a plate as Pacquiao does right now in his life. Marquez’s whole life if pretty much devoted to boxing, aside from his family life.

Marquez doesn’t have the multiple distractions that Pacquiao has with his political career, bible studies and being a huge hero at home in the Philippines. Marquez’s whole thing is to train, focus on boxing, and study his opponents. He’s not studying not tied down with bible study, meeting with politicians, playing basketball, or talking tons of people on a daily basis the way that Pacquiao is in the Philippines.

If Pacquiao is going to be successful in his next fight next year he’s going to have to concentrate more on boxing and try to cut out the unnecessary stuff if he wants to increase his chances of success. Pacquiao started his training camp for the Marquez 4th fight late because he had to stay in the Philippines a little longer to work on his political career, and that’s something that he can’t be doing when he’s facing a high caliber fighter like Marquez.

Instead of Pacquiao staying up at night studying the bible he should be studying video of Marquez with his trainer Freddie Roach. That would be the wise thing to do because he’s going to need every edge he can get if he wants to beat Marquez next year.

Pacquiao should think about working with his strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza to put more muscle on his frame because he needs to get stronger so that he can keep up with what Marquez is doing. Pacquiao is going to need to be at his very best if he wants to be able to beat Marquez in a 5th fight, and he could use a little more strength in his punches next time.
