Image: Atlas: Marquez beats Pacquiao if the judges get it rightBy Chris Williams: ESPN analyst Teddy Atlas sees Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KO’s) handing Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KO’s) a loss on Saturday night in their fourth fight of their series at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Atlas thinks that Marquez should have been given the decision in his three previous fights with Pacquiao, but the judges didn’t give it to the right man. Atlas thinks that Marquez should win tomorrow night because he’s already proven that he knows how to beat Pacquiao.

Atlas said on ESPN “The judges need to get it right. I think in the three fights they’ve gotten it wrong twice. If the judges get it right, Marquez will win it as he has in the first three fights, and Marquez will finally get his just desserts and win the fight. Marquez is close to 40, and he could all of a sudden get old, and Pacquiao could win, but that aside, he has the number on Pacquiao. It’s more important for Marquez to pull this off for his legacy than it is for Pacquiao.”

I couldn’t agree more with Atlas. I think Marquez wants it more, has trained harder for this fight, and has the superior skills to beat Pacquiao tomorrow night. I also agree with Atlas that Marquez should have been given the decision in his three previous fights with Pacquiao and it’s sad that the judges didn’t give him his wins. It just shows you that boxing really needs good judges because having judges that see a fight in an upside down manner doesn’t help it because then the wrong guy gets the victories and the better fighter gets the shaft.

Dan Rafael of ESPN also picked Marquez to win tomorrow night. He also thinks Marquez has won two of the three fights with the third fight being a draw in his view.
