Hector “Macho” Camacho Sr. shot in Puerto Rico
By Eric Thomas: 50-year-old former three division world champion Hector “Macho” Camacho (79-6-3, 38 KO’s) has reportedly been shot tonight in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, according to fightnews.com. Camacho Sr. was reportedly hit in the neck and the face during the shooting.
He’s currently in critical condition at the St. Paul’s hospital in Rio Piadras, Puerto Rico.
Between 1983 and 1992, Camacho Sr. was one of the best fighters in the world, winning titles at super featherweight, lightweight and light welterweight. Camacho Sr. has wins over Ray Mancini, Sugar Ray Leonard, Greg Haugen, Vinny Pazienza, Tony Baltazar, Howard Davis Jr., Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Edwin Rosario and Freddie Roach. Camacho Sr. was beaten by the best in boxing, losing to Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya during his prime.
