Is It Back to School for Amir Khan?

Image: Is It Back to School for Amir Khan?By Gurinder Dosanjh: By recently cutting off his twitter account, Amir Khan has taken away one of our outlets to criticize him. But why do we pick on him? I don’t think it’s his boxing ability or his questionable chin. It’s what comes out of his mouth. Maybe, by disabling his account, he is taking away his ability to annoy us.

This is as significant as changing trainer from Freddie Roach to Virgil Hunter. Another sign that he recognizes whatever he was doing wasn’t working, regardless of who was at fault, him or Freddie.

Another change is the type of opponent for his next fight, Carlos Molina, a smaller fighter with no power. A much smarter move than fighting Lamont Peterson in his hometown. When he took that fight did Khan realize he was the champion and didn’t have to go there? And who was he trying to entertain by attempting to brawl with Danny Garcia, Danny’s father?

In his next fight, he will have to make another change, stay as disciplined in the ring as he is during training. He should win the fight, but the manner in which he performs will tell us if he’s learned from his mistakes. If he chooses to fight instead of box, guaranteed he will hit the canvas next time he fights a credible opponent.
