Image: Floyd Mayweather: I’m going backBy Alex Prodromou: In a recent interview Floyd Mayweather, 35, (43 – 0), 26 KO’s was asked where he would go next with his career and he responded that he was going to make another appearance at WrestleMania. He then followed this up by reinstating what he said at the end of the Miguel Cotto fight, that he didn’t have that many options on who to fight next. Is the whole WrestleMania thing a final hint that he is ready to finally retire and never fight again for good?

If he is not planning on retiring again he should not be wasting valuable years of his career by taking long layoffs or mini retirements. At the end of the day it is ultimately his choice as it is his life, but there are people that feel Floyd owes it to his fans that he should fight on while he can. I mean after all his fans have given their hard earned cash to watch him fight on various occasions.

I am a big fan of Floyd and I do, like every other fan of his, want to see him fight again very soon. The guy has one fight every year, which I think is bad for boxing. Our boxing Superstars should fight more often; this is what the sport is missing. I’m not a big fan of Manny Pacquiao, but I would even like to see him fight more regular.

Two times a year isn’t bad compared to Mayweather, but it still isn’t good enough. I think it should be made mandatory from every boxing board that the Champions and top contenders should have to defend their titles at least three times a year or face losing them. Opinions below please
