Flannigan victorious in lightweight Prizefighter tourney; Fielding stops Dilks

By Sean McDaniel: Lightweight prospect Terry Flannigan (18-0, 4 KO’s) surprisingly won the lightweight Prizefighter tourney on Saturday night beating 28-year-old Gary Sykes (22-3, 5 KO’s) by a three round split decision at the Olympia, in Liverpool, UK. The final judges’ scores were 29-28, 29-28 for Flannigan, and 29-28 for Sykes.

In other action on the card, unbeaten super middleweight Rocky Fielding (12-0, 6 KO’s) stayed unbeaten with a 5th round knockout win over Carl Dilks (16-6, 5 KO’s) in winning the vacant BBBofC English super middleweight strap.
