Chisora: I’ve been offered a big fight for December

Image: Chisora: I've been offered a big fight for DecemberBy Scott Gilfoid: Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (15-4, 9 KO’s) claims he’s been offered a huge fight for December, but he for some reason doesn’t know if he should accept the fight or not. I guess I don’t blame him. Chisora has lost four out of his last five fights and I can see why he might be a little apprehensive about taking this so called big fight, if it’s actually fight. My question is does anyone still care?

Chisora said on his twitter “Just been offered a big fight for December. Shall I take it?”

I can’t wait to see what Chisora considers his “big fight.” I wouldn’t be surprised if his big fight is nothing more than a fight against Sam Sexton, Martin Rogan or even a rematch with Tyson Fury, if his fight with Denis Boytsov doesn’t come off.

Chisora looked terrible in losing to former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye by a 5th round knockout in his last fight in July of this year. I could tell Chisora was going to lose badly as soon as he came out for the 1st round with a nice coat of body fat on him. I heard previously that Chisora had been working real hard in training camp and was in excellent shape for the fight, but he looked like he’d been training on a diet of candy bars and fat food from the looks of it. Compared to how Chisora looked in his loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko earlier this year in February, Chisora looked badly out of shape.

At this point does Chisora even deserve a big fight? Come on, the man has lost all those fights in the past couple of years so he would be the last person on earth that I think deserves a big fight.

I could see Chisora’s big fight being against often recycled Audley Harrison. He seems to be the guy that British heavyweights use to make a name for themselves for an easy fight that gets the British public’s attention every time for some reason. I don’t know why fall for it every time but they do. I guess a lot of people are just gluttons.
