Adrien Broner: Pacquiao & Marquez don’t want to fight my big brother [Mayweather]

Image: Adrien Broner: Pacquiao & Marquez don't want to fight my big brother [Mayweather]By Chris Williams: Unbeaten former super featherweight champion Adrien Broner doesn’t see the point in Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KO’s) and Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KO’s) fighting yet again after having fought three times already. Broner thinks that neither Marquez or Pacquiao want to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr, and instead fight each other.

Broner sees it as a money grab by both fighters and thinks they’re just trying to make as much money as possible before they retire. Pacquiao and Marquez will be fighting on December 8th on HBO pay per view on December 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking with Fighthype.com, Broner said “They’re at the end of their careers so they try to get enough money as possible. They stealing from the game. They don’t want to fight my big brother [Floyd Mayweather Jr].”

Broner sent onto say that he’d fight both Pacquiao and Marquez, and beat them both on the same night by knocking them out. He figures they’re already both well accustomed to losing since they’ve both tasted defeat on a number of occasions already.

I kind of agree with Broner that there’s no real point in Pacquiao and Marquez fighting again for a fourth time. We’ve already seen this fight so many times in the past, and it’s not as if it’s going to prove anything at this point. Both guys have lost a step, Marquez is almost 40 now, and Pacquiao is coming off of a loss to Tim Bradley. I don’t know why Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum doesn’t mix in some new blood by having Pacquiao fight someone he hasn’t fought before, preferably a non-Top Rank fighter. I don’t want to see Pacquiao wipe out fellow Top Rank stable fighter Brandon Rios in early 2013, and I definitely don’t want to see Pacquiao fighting Marquez for a fifth time.

There are some boxing fans who think that Pacquiao will fight Rios in early 2013, and then go ahead and fight Marquez for a fifth time. If not him, then a rematch with Bradley. It just seems endless, Pacquiao fighting Marquez over and over again rather than new guys. I still don’t know why Arum signed Bradley up to his Top Rank stable. He must have not realized that Bradley didn’t have much of a fan base as the time he signed him.

I could understand Arum signing someone like Broner, who has pay per view potential, but not Bradley. And I bet we’ll see Pacquiao fighting Bradley next year along with Marquez instead of guys like Mayweather and Broner. I’d rather see Pacquiao fight Broner any day of the week than seeing another fight with Marquez. It’s not as if Marquez is going to win the fight.

We already saw Marquez fight well enough to deserve three wins over Pacquiao in the past, but they’re not giving him the victories and I don’t think that’ll change unless Marquez knocks Pacquiao out. It’s not even interesting when you know who the winner is going to be ahead of time, and it’s especially frustrating when you see Pacquiao get dominated and still win.
