Image: Dibella believes Sergio Martinez can't win a decision against Chavez JrBy Dan Ambrose: Lou Dibella, the promoter for Sergio Martinez, thinks that he can’t win a decision against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. this Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dibella feels that even if Martinez appears to beat Chavez Jr., he still won’t get the decision from the judges.

Dibella said to esnewsreporting.com “Do I think he’ll [Martinez] an 8-4 or 7-5 fight? No. He will not get the decision.”

Dibella then went on about the size of the ring, saying “F*** yeah, I’m going to measure the size of the ring and it better be 20 X 20 or else there won’t be a fight. For a fight of this magnitude, the gloves should be weighed.”

Chavez Jr’s last opponent Andy Lee’s team wanted the gloves to be weighed for their fight last June, but Chavez Jr’s trainer Freddie Roach refused and the fight went ahead without the gloves being weighed.

Dibella wants to make sure that Martinez isn’t stuck fighting Chavez Jr. in small ring, because that would favor Chavez Jr., who is strictly a pressure fighter that fights on the inside. Martinez likes to move around the ring, and if he’s unable to because of the ring being smaller than it would definitely help Chavez Jr.

I do think it might be hard for Martinez to win a decision against Chavez Jr. Martinez isn’t as popular as Chavez Jr. and you’ve got to figure that many of the rounds will be given to Chavez Jr. just based on the fact that he’s coming forward trying to make the fight happen. Martinez realizes that too and that’s why he plans on taking the judges out of the picture by knocking Chavez Jr. out cold so that the judges can’t play a factor int his fight.
