Image: Broner: I'm going to f*** Robert Guerrero up if we fightBy Dan Ambrose: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) doesn’t see WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18 KO’s) as someone that can even give him an interesting fight if Golden Boy Promotions is able to put the two of them in the ring to iron out their differences.

Guerrero got in Broner’s fast last Friday at the Chad Dawson – Andre Ward weigh-in and Guerrero seemed to really anger Broner to the point where he agreed to fight him, saying “Send the contract. I’ll sign it.

In an interview with Radio Raheem after the incident, Broner said “I’ll fight him [Guerrero] at any weight. He’s smaller than me…I’m going to f*** him up if we fight…He looked like a noodle next to me.”

That would be interesting fight if Golden Boy were open to making it, because Broner doesn’t have many other interesting match-ups available to him that HBO would likely agree on showing. They’ve already televised three mismatches in Broner’s last four fights with him easily beating Jason Litzau, Vicente Martin Rodriguez, Eloy Perez and Vicente Escobedo.

HBO is going to have to be a little tougher when agreeing to the opponents that Golden Boy lines up for Broner, because they’ve been setting him up against guys that have stood no chance against him lately. It might take a bigger fighter like Guerrero to give Broner some rounds, because he’s blowing his opponents out too quickly now and it’s not entertaining. Guerrero can’t punch, but he can take some shots.

At least if HBO pushes for this fight, Guerrero will probably be able to hang around for 9 or 10 rounds soaking up one-way punishment before he’s eventually stopped by Broner. No way can a light hitting slapper like Guerrero beat Broner. That’s not going to happen. He’s not in Broner’s class and probably never will be.
