Image: Tyson Fury still silent about Deontay Wilder calling him outBy Scott Gilfoid: There’s still no word from unbeaten #6 WBC heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (19-0, 14 KO’s) about the talented American heavyweight Deontay Wilder’s calling him out for a fight. You’d think that with all the hype made about the 24-year-old Fury that he’d at least respond to the Wilder’s challenge with a yes or a no answer.

Fury’s silence is damning because it gives the impression that he wants no part of this huge 6’7″ powerhouse. After all, look at what Wilder said about Fury to Fighthype.com earlier this week: “I would like to fight him [Fury] as soon as possible but he’s a coward.”

Look at that. Wilder is calling Fury a coward, and Fury isn’t saying anything. Why is Fury silent on this? He should at least give Wilder some kind of answer, because the man wants to get him in the ring so that he can spank him and take his high ranking.

That’s the problem that Wilder has been facing since he turned pro in 2008. He calls guys out but they don’t answer him back, and he’s forced to fight lower level guys. Wilder then gets blamed for facing the lower guys by boxing fans who have no clue that Wilder has been working hard trying to get the bigger fights, but he’s not getting the fighters that he wants to face to agree to fight him.

I wonder if Fury will eventually agree to fight Wilder? My guess is no. I wish Fury would because I’d like see how his chin would stand up to Wilder’s monstrous right hands and left hooks, but I can’t see it happening anytime soon, if ever.
