Image: Mayweather's muscle gain will make him tough to beatBy Chris Williams: After getting released earlier today, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was showing off some huge biceps that he gained while being behind bars for the past at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather looked to have put on at least seven pounds of muscle in his upper body while in jail and that’s going to make it tough for whoever he faces at the end of the year.

Mayweather captured the WBA junior middleweight title against Miguel Cotto last May in an exciting fight. It was thought that Mayweather would perhaps move back down to welterweight to fight smaller guys and give himself a break because he doesn’t have a big frame. However, in looking at the muscle that Mayweather has put on while behind bars I think he’s now good the size to give even the strongest of junior middleweights a lot of problems.

You can’t help but look at Mayweather and notice how different his body looks compared to in the past. He’s a lot more muscular and cut up compared to in the past, and it’s hard to get used to seeing him that huge. Mayweather looks like he could knock over a truck with one punch the way he’s built up his traps, biceps and chest. He looks like a completely different fighter.

Mayweather looks like he could giver Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Sergio Martinez big problems right now if he wanted to face either one of those guys next. I’d be willing to bet that Mayweather is well over 160 now and could make middleweight.
