The fight will be seen by a lot of people in the United States, and Golovkin wants to make sure he gives them a good show on Saturday night. Proksa is just another fighter standing in Golovkin’s way and it’s unfortunate that he’s going to likely take a beating in the process of getting knocked out.

Proksa is a little fighter with excellent power for his small size. But he’s facing someone so much better than him on Saturday and he’s not going to be able to compete with Golovkin. Proksa is in trouble no matter what does in this fight. If he runs, he’ll lose badly and still get knocked out at some point. If he stops and tries to match Golovkin in a one on one fight, he’ll get knocked out quick.

If I was Proksa’s trainer, I’d have already worked on raising his guard to start protecting his exposed head, and then I would instruct for him to run as much as possible to see if he could last until the second half of the fight. Who knows? Proksa might be able to tire Golovkin out if he fights him that way. I doubt it, but at least he won’t get mowed down immediately in an embarrassing fashion.

Proksa’s power is good, but he does everything so wrong with his mechanics and he leaves himself open all the time due to his bad habit of keeping his guard low. Kerry Hope took advantage of Proksa’s low guard in both of their fights, and was able to hit him with a constant rain of left hand leads.

Perhaps the only reason Proksa didn’t get knocked out in those two fights is because Hope didn’t have any power to speak of. Golovkin does and he’s going to really pummel Proksa as long as this fight lasts, which I don’t think will be for very long.
