Golovkin, 30, isn’t worried about getting past the 27-year-old Proksa, and neither is Golokin’s trainer Abel Sanchez, who sees Golovkin putting Proksa to sleep by the 6th round tomorrow night.

Golovkin is already looking past Proksa towards the September 15th fight between Sergio Martinez and WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Golovkin wants the winner of that fight and it could be a huge fight. However, the chances are slim that Chavez Jr. or Martinez will agree to fighting the hard hitting Golovkin. Martinez wants Floyd Mayweather Jr. and who knows who Bob Arum, Chavez Jr’s promoter, will want for his money fighter if he can get past Martinez. You would have to think that Golovkin would be off limits because he’s not showing signs of aging like 37-year-old Martinez is, which is probably the only reason Martinez is being given a shot against Chavez Jr. now. When Martinez was fighting at the top of his game, Arum wasn’t at all eager to put Chavez Jr. in with him.

Golovkin told ESPN “My dream fight is to fight the winner of Chavez and Martinez…I’ve been the mandatory for [WBA Super World middleweight champion Felix] Sturm for so long. Peter Quillin’s name has come up. I’ll fight anyone in the middleweight division.”

Being willing to fight anyone is refreshing for a fighter nowadays because so many of these guys are spoon-fed easy opposition throughout their careers and avoid the tough opponents. Quillin might be a possibility if he can pick up the WBO middleweight title against champion Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam on October 20th. However, Quillin’s trainer is Freddie Roach and I’d be willing to bet that Roach will end persuading Quillin not to face Golovkin, because Quillin doesn’t have an inside game at all, and Golovkin would tear him apart in close. Not sure why Roach hasn’t taught Quillin how to fight on the inside, but at this stage of his career with him about to turn 30, I don’t Quillin ever developing an inside game. Golovkin would beat him easier than he’ll beat Proksa tomorrow night.
