Both guys are the best at their weights, and two of them together could be explosive.

Although these guys aren’t normally known for being involved with exciting fights, the two of them being brought together could be like a couple of magnets being put together where they cancel each others strengths out to where we could see an old fashioned slug-fest.

Ward comes into the fight against Dawson on the back of a dominating performance Carl Froch last December in the Super Six tournament finals. Ward proved that he’s the best fighter in that tournament by easily beating Froch, and proving that he’s the best fighter in the division.

With the 168 pound division pretty much being cleaned out for Ward after the last remaining guy former IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute beaten by Carl Froch, Ward had no choice but to fight the 29-year-old Dawson in order to find new worlds to climb in terms of accomplishment. There would be no point in Ward facing Froch a second time, because it was too easy the first time. There’s also no point in Ward fighting Bute, because he was already exposed by Froch.

Ward, as talented as he is, he cold have problems with Dawson’s long reach and fine athletic ability. Dawson is very skilled as well, and the combination of Dawson’s size, reach, boxing skills and athletic ability makes him very hard to beat. What makes Dawson even harder to beat is his southpaw stance. He throws these big left hand bombs from the outside and he’s got a great jab and right hook to go along with those fine tools.
