For an aging heavyweight like 41-year-old Vitali, the 6’3″ slow as molasses Charr is the perfect remedy to make him look young again. That and a little Grecian formula for the silver locks that have started to creep in and take over Vitali’s once brown mane.

Charr is ranked #7 by the WBC, but in terms of talent, he’s more like 40 or 50 in the division. He’s very limited, very hittable and very slow. There’s not much there to get excited about with him. Charr barely beat journeyman Zack Page in 2010, and hasn’t exactly been facing dangerous opposition since then. But it shows you that the way to get a title shot isn’t by facing contenders and proving yourself against them. No, all you got to do is follow what Charr has done and beat guys like journeyman Danny Williams, Robert Hawkins, Page, Ramon Hayes, Sherman Williams, Serdar Uysal and Owen Beck and you’re there.

Vitali could be retiring after this fight to go into politics if he’s elected in October in Ukraine when he runs for a seat in Parliament. There’s still a possibility that Vitali might fight again against former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, but it’s probably not likely. The money would be nice for Vitali, but he’s already got a ton of money and doesn’t really need any more to cushion his retirement. Besides, a fight against Haye would be a very dangerous fight for the slow moving Vitali and he could end up getting embarrassed by Haye.
