Bradley: I think Pacquiao’s people are scared; I’m going to beat him worse

Image: Bradley: I think Pacquiao's people are scared; I'm going to beat him worseBy Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12 KO’s) smells fear coming from Manny Pacquiao’s team about a rematch between the two fighters on November 10th. Bradley feels they might be afraid of what could happen to the Filipino if he risks a second fight against the tough as nails Bradley.

Bradley told the Desert Sun at mydesert.com “I think a lot of people on that side are scared. He couldn’t knock me out with two peg legs. Me healthy, I’m going to beat him worse. If Manny wants to do it, let’s do it…I want to fight but he hasn’t decided yet.”

I have to agree with Bradley. If Pacquiao couldn’t beat Bradley when he was on two bad legs after suffering serious injuries in his fight with the Filipino last June, then a completely healthy Bradley on two good feet is going to be a real nightmare for Pacquiao. Bradley’s movement will be better, his hand speed will be better, and his dominate will be better.

Bradley already knows how to beat Pacquiao after he discovered last time out that Pacquiao can’t cut off the ring and he can’t/won’t fight for the full three minutes of every round. Bradley feels that Pacquiao will just try and steal the rounds in the last seconds of each round to try and get around having to work hard.

I think it might be difficult for Pacquiao to put in enough effort to win rounds now because his stamina has taken a serious hit for some reason. I think it’s age, but it’s possible that his strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza didn’t have Pacquiao doing the right exercises. All that power feeding obviously can’t be helping Pacquiao either. He’s eating a ton of food to try and keep his weight up, and he’d be better off getting as low in weight as possible so his stamina will be better, as well as his movement.

If I’m Pacquiao, I’d dump Ariza and Freddie Roach and go with a new team for his next fight. He’s got nothing to lose and everything to gain. He needs to drop weight, dump his trainers, and while he’s at it, sweep clean that entourage that he has with him. The guy needs to focus on training and in between that peace and quiet. When a body gets old you can’t have a bunch of distractions with people pulling you in every direction.
