Steward feels that Khan has almost every advantage that you can think of for this fight in terms of physical tools and experience.

Steward does think Garcia can win the fight, but only if he pressures Khan like Lamont Peterson did last December. That’s going to be a big ask for Garcia, because he doesn’t have the foot speed that Peterson does, and he likely won’t jog after Khan to try and chase him down like Peterson did.

Steward told eastsideboxing.com’s On the Ropes Boxing Radio program “There are so many advantages for Amir Khan to begin with, as he’s the bigger guy, much bigger, extensive amateur career…Activity level, that’s still another Amir Khan factor and the speed, energy and intensity. I’d still give that to Amir…Garcia has to put a lot of pressure; He can’t just sit back and let Amir dictate the pace.”

What the fight will come down to is Khan’s speed, and Steward believes that will be the telling factor in this fight. He doesn’t see Garcia making the needed adjustments to find a way to defeat Khan and throw him off his game the way that Peterson did.

Khan is susceptible early on in his fights to getting hit with big shots. We saw that in his loss to Breidis Prescott in 2008, when Khan charged him and ran into a couple of hard hooks and was put down. Khan seems to fight with too much intensity at the start of his fights, and that’s an area that Garcia can possibly exploit if he meets Khan’s intensity with with some big shots to the head.
