Khan’s bout will face stiff competition in the UK from the Dereck Chisora vs. David Haye fight, which also takes place on Saturday night and will likely have a crowd of over 30,000 fans in attendance at Upton Park in London.

For some reason Khan sees the two fights as competing against each other for fans. Khan believes his fight will attract more eyeballs on Saturday than the Chisora-Haye fight.

Khan told Sky Sports News “People known the difference, especially boxing fans, they know my fight is a lot bigger [than the Haye-Chisora fight] because there’s two world titles on the line. David is a good friend of mine but the fight is not as big a fight. There are no world titles on the line and I don’t think Chisora is a top 10 [fighter].”

Does Khan really think people care about whether there’s two titles on the line for his bout against Garcia? No one cares about that junk. All they want to see is the fight itself, because Khan was beat in his last fight. The titles are meaningless.

I think Khan is dreaming. His bout against Garcia will be lucky to draw four thousand fans on Saturday in Las Vegas. My guess is it will likely bring slightly more than 3000 fans. Khan’s not a huge draw in the U.S yet, and I have doubts he ever will be. The fight will air on HBO, but I doubt that the ratings will be high. If this was Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao, the ratings would be high, but this is just Khan. He doesn’t have a big fan base in the U.S outside of the hardcore boxing fans.

If Khan is talking about his fight with Garcia being bigger in the UK than the Haye-Chisora fight, then I still think he’s off. The Haye-Chisora fight is still the better fight by far. Garcia isn’t a star in the U.S, and looked terrible in beating Erik Morales recently. The British fans likely have no clue to Garcia is. It’s not like Khan is facing a well known fighter that Brits care about.
