Khan may have made a mistake in choosing to bulk up during training camp with his new trainer. In looking at training photos, Khan appeared to have put on a considerable amount of muscle weight. This obviously would make it a lot harder for Khan when it came time for him to dehydrate down to 140 pounds during the weight-in.

Since it’s highly unlikely that Khan has the same ability as WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to lose tons of water weight and then put it back on after the weigh-in without being weakened at all, we very could see have problems against Garcia. If you’d looked at Garcia on Friday, he looked perfectly fine as if he could have stepped into the ring at fight at that time.

It’s pretty much academic at this point that Khan is going to be moving up in weight to the welterweight division win or lose to try and hound a fight out of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sometimes when fighters slack off when they see an end to something. In this case it would be Khan kissing goodbye the light welterweight division in moving up in weight.

Khan may have slacked off too much by coming into this fight a little too heavy, and we could see Khan get beaten again. He lost his last fight against Lamont Peterson and looked exhausted in the 2nd half of the fight, needing constant rest breaks against the ropes to try and catch his breath. Khan didn’t do that for sport, he absolutely needed those breaks because he was so tired from moving around.
