This is an important bout for both fighters, because the winner could possibly get a big money bout against WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the near future.

It’s probably not going to happen, because Mayweather doesn’t waste his time facing guys that don’t sell a lot of tickets and bring in huge ratings on HBO. The 29-year-old Guerrero’s problem is that he fights on Showtime, whereas Mayweather fights on HBO. That right there would be a problem. But more significantly, Guerrero just isn’t a big name and that will probably be the fatal blow in keeping him from getting he Mayweather fight even if he beats Aydin decisively.

This is going to be a really tough fight for Guerrero, because Aydin is easily the hardest puncher Guerrero has ever faced in terms of an actual live bout. He’s obviously sparred with bigger punchers than Aydin before, but it’ll be a different story without the headgear and the giant training gloves on. Aydin, although a crude fighter without a lot of skills, he can really punch. A lot of boxing fans see Aydin as being similar to Marcos Maidana, only a little shorter, a little faster, and more accurate with his shots than Maidana.

Guerrero is going to have to make sure he doesn’t get in a war with Aydin because that’s a fight that will suit Aydin’s style of fighting. He doesn’t handle boxers very well, as we saw in his two close wins over Ionut “Jo-Jo Dan” Ion. Aydin had a lot of problems with Jo-Jo Dan’s boxing ability despite his efforts at pressuring him.
