(Photo: Sumio Yamada) By Hector Gonzalez: Many of us boxing aficionados have being saying that Amir Khan was over rated for a while now. Observers such as myself anticipated Amir Khan being Knockout by Garcia; all along we were called ‘haters’ and ‘racist’ for not supporting Khan.

In reality, Khan not only does not have the skills to beat Garcia, he doesn’t have the skills to be on the top level! Yet there are many fighters who do have what it takes and they’re being ignored. There’s something very telling about the fight this weekend. Garcia has been ignored for a few years now, how many other ‘Garcia’s’ are out there that have not been allowed to shine.

Garcia is a young guy that even isn’t fully developed as a fighter. He came in as a heavy underdog even though, many analysts could have told you what the outcome was going to be. Even the moments that Khan looked good, he was being set up for a counter the entire time. And by the way, Khan was getting countered starting from round 1.

One of the most interesting predictions that Khan fans were making before the fight was that ‘Khan was going to KO’ Garcia, not realizing that Khan has actually only KO’d 1 person in his entire career. He has a lot of TKO’s but only one KO, many of them questionable, so how was he suppose to KO a young kid with a granite chin and devastating power! He wasn’t, Khan was just hyped all along. Only ‘hype’ would allow you to believe that Khan has any power. This needs to change in Boxing, fighters that are not being recognized need to be allowed to shine and promoted correctly for the sake of the sport.

Fighters like Garcia, Josesito, ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero, Molina, Matthysse, Mares and many more all have the potential to be on the spot light. How come they’re being ignored?

There is nothing that Khan could do to be elite. People say, he didn’t use the ‘right strategy’ it wouldn’t have mattered, even the slow Maidana walked right through Khan.

I have another prediction of a fighter who is going to be exposed the same way that Khan was exposed this weekend…… Nonito Donaire is going to beat Jorge Arce—- within a year Nonito Donaire will be exposed brutally at the 122-126 division. Just sit back and watch.
