The George-Stevenson fight will be taking place on the undercard of the Tavoris Cloud vs. Jean Pascal fight, and may very well overshadow that fight despite there being no title on the line.

The Stevenson fight opened up for the 27-year-old George after Andre Dirrell dropped out of the picture for a fight against Stevenson, apparent because he didn’t have enough time to get ready for the fight by August 11th. George was then able to step in and take the fight with Stevenson. This may turn out being a much tougher fight for Stevenson than a fight against Dirrell, because George has a great chin, excellent power and he won’t be hard to find for Stevenson.

George will be going right at the teeth of Stevenson’s offense all night long, and if Stevenson can’t get George out of there as quick as possible, we could see George blasting Stevenson out. Stevenson was already knocked out by Darnell Boone in 2010, and George hits at least as hard as Boone does it not harder.

Stevenson doesn’t have great boxing skills, and he kind of relies on his ability to KO an opponent. If he can’t take George out then he’s going to be in for a world of hurt on August 11th. You don’t stand in front of George without getting hammered. George lost recently to Edwin Rodriguez last March, but this was with Rodriguez running around the ring and not letting George to get his offense set up to where he could take him out.
