Image: Chisora-Haye ticket sales more than Bute-Froch, Brook-Jones, Fury-Maddalone combinedBy Sean McDaniel: While a lot of people are against this Saturday’s fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora taking place; there’s still a ton of people that are interested enough in the fight to purchase tickets in very high numbers. Indeed, according to ESPN there are over 30,000 tickets already sold for the Chisora-Haye fight, and this eclipses the amount of tickets that were sold for Lucian Bute vs. Carl Froch, Kell Brook vs. Carson Jones and Tyson Fury vs. Vinny Maddalone COMBINED.

Yes, there might be some fans that seen the Chisora-Haye fight as an outlaw bout, but you can’t argue with it’s success in putting backsides in seats. 30,000 is a huge number, and it tells you that boxing fans don’t care whether the British Boxing Board of Control or the WBC aren’t in favor of the Chisora vs. Haye fight happening. Boxing fans have spoken and they want to see this fight.

Haye weighed in at 210 pounds at yesterday’s weigh-in compared to the 247 lbs for Chisora. That obviously is a cause for concern if your a Haye fan, because anytime you get a fighter that outweighs another by close to 40 pounds like we have in Saturday’s fight,it suggest that we could see a mismatch. Haye doesn’t seem worried at all about his lack of size, saying to ESPN “He’s going to come out looking for a tear up, which is a perfect style for me. If he goes out and does what he normally does, he’s getting chinned. I’m healthy, strong, fit and fast. I’m looking forward to doing some damage.”

Haye usually does well against fighters that come straight at him like Chisora will likely do. Haye has problems against guys that can box or take a lot of punishment like Carl Thompson did in his win over Haye years ago.
