Bute: That wasn’t the real Lucian Bute that lost to Froch

Bute pointed out “That was not the real Lucian Bute in that Nottingham ring last May 26th…It was a bad night for me…I didn’t use my primary weapons.”

That explains a lot, because I don’t know how for the life of me Froch was able to win this fight. It was like the perfect storm. A bunch of events came together to produce a once in a lifetime win for Froch against Bute. Unfortunately, those events won’t lead to another win for Froch when he meets Bute in a rematch in March of 2013 in Montreal, Canada.

Froch had his 15 minutes of fame, and now it’s Bute’s turn to knock him off the mountain to regain the IBF strap. No doubt Froch is sky high right now with this win; He’s probably seeing himself staying at the top for ages, but sadly I see the real world crashing in on him in the form of Bute spanking him in front of 15,000 Bute loving fans in Montreal.

Froch is going to wonder why he can’t lay a glove on Bute, and the reason will be simple – because the man will be moving instead of standing there asking to be smacked around like last time. Froch doesn’t have much choice about the rematch. There’s a rematch clause, but I guess he won’t have to be dragged into Montreal kicking and screaming, because he’ll make a lot of cash for the fight. But where Froch is going to blow it is in his November fight.

That’s the one his promoter Eddie Hearn is trying to line up Mikkel Kessler as the opponent. I see that fight ending badly for Froch where he ends up getting a big fat loss on his record. With a defeat by Kessler, Froch will come in limping next year, probably still licking his wounds for all he’s worth and vulnerable to getting beaten by Bute.
