It’s kind of sad that Bundrage is hoping he looked beatable, because the object should be for him to have looked impressive enough to get the fight. But unfortunately it’s working backwards in the case of Alvarez, especially if you look at the kinds of fighters he’s fought his entire career.

After beating Spinks last night by a 7th round TKO win, and yes, looking vulnerable during parts of the fight, Bundrage said “We want Canelo, Where you at? Knockouts are always good and I looked vulnerable. Cory Spinks looked good, so why wouldn’t you want to fight me at 39-years-old?”

That’s funny. Bundrage is making fun of the fact that he probably won’t get the fight with Alvarez unless he’s seen as beatable. Unfortunately, Bundrage still looked too good and I don’t see him getting the fight with Alvarez. The same goes for Erislandy Lara, who beat Freddy Hernandez on the same card. He probably won’t get picked out either for the Alvarez fight.

The fighter that a lot of boxing fans think will get picked out by Golden Boy is Carlos Quintana, who has looked very beatable. He was blown out by Andre Berto two years ago and isn’t much of a threat to Alvarez.
