Khan was knocked out in the 4th round, and was saved by the referee who did a great job. Thank God the referee called the fight to a halt.

Amazing is, all the things we complained about Khan, he DID NOT do tonight. When almost 80% of the people thought Khan would win because of his style of boxing. Khan fought Garcia’s fight standing in front of him exchanging combination and even at times making himself even smaller.

Khan made the BIGGEST mistake of his career by failing to hit and run in this fight. Unfortunately he didn’t do this.

I must blame his trainer Freddie Roach who must know that Garcia is a counter puncher and a hard hitter at the same time.

Amir was very sharp, VERY SHARP for the first two and a half rounds, but I kept telling myself as I watched the fight ‘what is he doing standing there? Garcia only needs luck for he has the punch.’

From my article earlier in the day, I stressed that Khan must not stand in front of Garcia.

Well you know the rest of the story. Khan will definitely do better if there is a rematch, and tonight he was so sharp that even though Garcia caught him, we wonder how good he could have probably been if he fought his fight.

I have no concerns about Khan getting knocked out. Garcia hits hard period. But I have to say, Garcia was on the verge of getting knocked out himself or being totally blown away. Khan has even now a better chance in this division simply because everyone will be coming again trying to knock him out. I do not think its the end of Khan, but the coach definitely has to be changed, for its time, and now he will have to pick his fights.

Roach made the biggest mistake of Khan’s career, by coming up with this game plan for last night’s fight. I guess he thought Erik Morales was just old and that’s why he could not take Garcia’s punch.

This is not an excuse, its a FACT! It’s a perfect example of the wrong game plan.

Congratulations to Garcia. He took this fight too early in his career but pulled it off.
