By Mark Uliano: On June 14th in New York, NY four-time New York Golden Glove Champion and up and coming middleweight prospect Will ‘Power” Rosinsky will be fighting against the 33 year old son of former boxing great Aaron Pryor at the Roseland Ballroom.

Rosinsky (15-1, 9KO) will be facing his most experienced fighter to date in Pryor Jr. (16-5, 11 KO) from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pryor Jr., coming off loses in three of his last four, still has a solid resume coming into this fight. With recent loses to Adonis Stevenson, Thomas Oosthuizen and a similar foe in Edwin Rodriguez, Rosinsky still believes Pryor is going to come to fight. Speaking about Pryor as a boxer, Rosinsky stated, “I think Pryor is a good, not great boxer. He seems to use his reach pretty well in spots, but is not real consistent. He also has a lazy jab.” On losing three out of his last four, Rosinsky had two scenarios in how Pryor can come into this fight mentally saying, “ Losing his last three of four can have two different effects. One, it can make him hungry and want to prove himself or two it can get him discouraged. I’ll assume the first! Ha. I’ll assume he’s at his best so I’ll have to fight at my best. I’m very ready for this fight, physically and mentally.” We were able to touch on his preparations for this fight and when asked how his training camp went for his upcoming bout, Rosinsky said, “It went great and is still going great. We still have about 10 days till fight night so I’ll keep pushing, till probably Monday or Tuesday.” After the emotional and much controversial loss to Edwin Rodriguez, Rosinsky signed a three-fight extension with Lou DiBella Entertainment. This fight will be the second on that contract after his annihilation of Zane Marks which led to a third round TKO by the Queens, NY native at BB King Blues Club & Grill this past March on Broadway Boxing. When asked about a rematch in regards to Edwin Rodriguez, Rosinsky told me, “A rematch with Rodriguez, I doubt it. They don’t want the rematch. They can fight lesser opponents for more money.”

Also on the card that night is fellow NY native, Seanie Monaghan. When asked how the atmosphere in the crowd will be at the Roseland Ballroom with another hometown favorite in Monaghan (13-0, 8 KO), Rosinsky said, “Monaghan fans are great along with my own fans. I think it will be a great mix of people. A whole bunch of noise!” With Rosinsky and Monaghan fans in attendance, it’s sure to be an entertaining night. I asked Rosinsky who does he see and who he would like to see himself fighting in the future should he emerge victorious over Aaron Pryor Jr. on June 14th and the answer was the same. Rosinsky replied, “I think a win over Pryor is another step. For me, I’ll fight anyone as long as my reward is worth the risk. Meaning the money will be there to fight the top guys. I’m all for that.” A win over Pryor will definitely bring the bigger and better names for the EMS worker from East New York Brooklyn who looks to make big strides after this fight. In my closing question I asked Rosinsky what the fans in attendance and the viewers at home could expect on June 14th. Rosinsky stated, “On June 14, as always, people can expect a rough explosive fight from me. Obviously Pryor is the much taller guy so his game is going to be on the outside where as my job will be to get on the inside. I think our styles will make for a crowd pleaser.”

It’s sure to be an explosive fight come June 14th at the Roseland Ballroom. Other fighters on the card along with Rosinsky and Monaghan are Welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (14-0, 11 KO) and Junior Welterweight fighter Gabriel Bracero (18-1, 4KO). The fight will be broadcast on SportsNet, for channel check your local cable provider. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling DiBella Entertainment at (212) 947-2577.
