What now for Manny Pacquiao?

Image: What now for Manny Pacquiao?By Ashley Gibson: First, let me just state that I am an unbiased boxing fan. So commenting on recent events should draw no arguments. Do I believe Manny Pacquiao won his fight against Timothy Bradley? Yes. However I also believe that the judges are the experts not the fans.

We all need to accept and appreciate that no amount of complaining will overturn the decision, therefore we need to look at what is next for Pacquiao. If Bradley decides not to fight the rematch, which he may well do, what is left for Manny.

Marquez and a fourth fight would interest nobody and Mayweather is more likely to fight at junior middleweight with Saul Alvarez or take on the winner of Pacquiao Bradley which was Timothy Bradley. Pacquiao needs to decide whether to move up to junior middleweight and fight the likes of Canelo Alvarez or call it a day.

I appreciate watching Manny Pacquiao fight however it’s obvious he is on the decline. Who offers him a big payday now? Yes there are names out there but relevant? Not really. I think Pacquiao has lost the balance between politics and boxing and should focus more on congress and his political campaign because his boxing career is beginning to plummet.

One thing is for certain, he will go down as one of the greatest fighters of the last century and a record breaker but we don’t want to see him fighting any old fighter next. If he can find one last opponent like Canelo Alvarez to shine against he could regenerate his career but if that fails I believe there is nothing really appealing out in the boxing world for Pacquiao.
