Image: WBO won't be overturning Pacquiao-Bradley resultsBy Chris Williams: To no great surprise the WBO will not be overturning the results of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Tim Bradley fight. The World Boxing Organization president Franciso “Paco” Valcarcel reports that a five-member panel of judges reviewed the fight and had Pacquiao as the winner, according to RingTV.

However, the results of the fight will stand. The WBO will not be overturning the fight, and will merely recommend a rematch between Pacquiao and Bradley but won’t be ordering one. What a waste, eh? Why did the WBO even bother to review the fight in the first place?

Bob Arum, the promoter for Pacquiao and Bradley, seems pleased with the results, saying to RingTV “Paco’s not a dictator. He’s saying it’s up to the fighters and the promoter, as well it should be.”

Arum and Pacquiao will meet and decide which direction they should take for Pacquiao’s next fight. It’s looking like Pacquiao will choose to face Juan Manuel Marquez again rather than a taking a risky second fight against Bradley. I guess it’s a smart move, because Marquez, 39, may be old enough now for Pacquiao to finally beat him without controversy.

I say probably because Pacquiao’s skills look to have really deteriorated in his last three fights, and he’s to the point where he’s lost hand speed. Pacquiao also looked to be regressing as a fighter in his last bout. He rarely used his right hand and was reverting back to his pre-2006 form when Pacquiao was pretty much just a one-armed fighter who used his left hand exclusively in his fights.

I’ve heard of fighters losing their skills, but I’ve never heard of a fighter forgetting the skills that he’s learned. I think Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is going to need to go over the use of his right hand in training once again, because it looks like Pacquiao has forgotten how to use it.
