Was Pacquiao – Bradley one of the worst decisions ever?

Image: Was Pacquiao – Bradley one of the worst decisions ever?By Dallan O’Donnell: Last weekend, fans said that boxing had died. There were trends on Twitter that would make boxing fans hang their heads in shame. The reality is, boxing is NOT dead, it is suffering under horrible circumstances but boxing will never die.

The result last weekend in Vegas is one of the worst I’ve ever seen, after the Juan Manuel Marquez – Manny Pacquiao decision. The media, after the fight, tried to defend the decision which is just pathetic in itself. Tim Bradley lost, and lost badly, I gave him 2 rounds. Perhaps a case for four but the fight wasn’t even close. Pacquaio dominated the fight from start to finish.

Now fans have to rationalize the result and worry for the future, wondering will there be more poor results like this one?

Personally, I think the two judges who scored the fight for Bradley should be banned. Nobody in the right frame of mind could have given that fight to Bradley.

Should Top Rank be investigated also? Is it all a money making scheme by Bob Arum? Who knows?

Well-minded people know who won.

Should we install a new judging system? Should Compubox Statistics have a say in the outcome?

Again, all these ideas will never be taken into account.
It is a shame that this has happened, but remember what happened to Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez should arguably be the WBO champion as we contest this new decision!

A horrible decision, yes, but boxing won’t suffer for long. Pacquiao will expect revenge in the rematch and personally, I would not like to be Bradley facing a scorned Pacquiao.

Rumours have circulated that Pacquiao will face Marquez in November and not Bradley. So if I were the likes of Paulie Malignaggi, or Kell Brook, I would want to face Timothy Bradley for that title. Bradley is so over-rated. I’m sure he will have nothing to do with Amir Khan either, who has called him out now, Khan would beat Bradley, likewise would Malignaggi and Brook.

The worst thing is, we will have to listen to Bradley until Pacquiao or someone else beats him. Bradley actually believes that he won the fight. I do feel slightly sorry for Bradley if this is what he thinks.

Bradley has become the new villain of boxing. The judges’ scorecard he could do nothing about, but the way he talks about the results after is all down to him. The world knows that Pacquiao won. The world knows that Bradley isn’t that good. I’m not a fan of either fighter, I’m a boxing fan who feels aggrieved.
