Image: Pacquiao's ego will likely cause him to face Bradley againBy Chris Williams: Some fighters are just too easy to read in what they’ll do next. Manny Pacquiao is one of them. His promoter Bob Arum is pretty much making it clear that he’d prefer that his little cash cow fight Juan Manuel Marquez or Miguel Cotto in rematches, but that’s probably not going to happen even if Arum talks himself blue in the face trying to talk logic to Pacquiao.

For most people it would be an easy choice if Arum brought up the fast that they could make a lot more money fighting Cotto or Marquez. However, Pacquiao probably won’t make his decision based on dollars and cents. What he’ll probably base his decision on is ego. He didn’t like getting beaten by Bradley, and yeah, I guess Pacquiao didn’t like how he looked when he finally sat down and watched his performance on replay.

Pacquiao had to see what I saw – a stumbling fighter, missing a lot of punches, reflexes looking near-shot, and with zero ability to cut off the ring or handle even the slightest bit of movement from Bradley. Pacquiao probably sees in his mind a vision where he can go out there in a rematch and right things by giving Bradley a beating that will erase the doubts in the minds of fans that he’s still got it.

The worst way to make a decision is based on ego. You’ve got to sit down and be rational about it, and look at it from a scientific outlook. I don’t see Pacquiao being able to do that. He probably feels hurt from the loss and he wants to make that hurt disappear. Perhaps the only way he knows how to do that is to try and avenge the loss. I personally wouldn’t recommend Pacquiao doing that. He needs to listen to his promoter Arum and fight Marquez or Cotto again.

It can only get worse for Pacquiao in a rematch with Bradley, because Pacquiao got beat by a fighter with two bad feet. If Bradley can beat Pacquiao even with severe injuries to both feet, can you imagine what he’ll be able to do to him with both feet fully functional in a rematch?
