Mayweather Sr. astutely points out that there wasn’t a big deal made out of Juan Manuel Marquez getting jobbed when he faced Pacquiao last November in Pacquiao’s 12 round decision win.

A lot of boxing fans thought that Marquez should have been given the division in that fight, yet Pacquiao got the win, just as he did in 2008 when he fought Marquez and appeared to lose.

Mayweather Sr. told Eastsideboxing.com’s On the Ropes Boxing Radio Program “Look at the fight that Pacquiao just fought with Marquez…He [Pacquiao] clearly got his ass whopped, and nothing was said about it. Now all of a sudden it’s a big deal now that he got a bad decision…Now all of a sudden cause he is from the Philippines and he got a bad decision, now they are going to put the damn government in it.”

It is funny, isn’t it? Pacquiao wins a controversial decision over Marquez, and it’s like ‘Get over it already, we’re moving on.’ But when Pacquiao loses a fight, people go apoplectic about it. Now why is that?

I feel sorry for Marquez, because I had him winning by four rounds against Pacquiao. Not only did he end up losing the fight by a terrible decision, but then Pacquiao moves on and fights Tim Bradley instead of giving Marquez a rematch to prove that he’s the better man.
