Image: Khan: Pacquiao got robbed! I want BradleyBy William Mackay: Amir Khan took in the Manny Pacquiao – Tim Bradley fight last Saturday night, and he was unhappy with the result of the fight. Khan felt that his close friend Pacquiao got jobbed by the judges. Khan thought it was a clear win for Pacquiao despite the fact that the fight was incredibly close.

Khan said on his twitter “What a robbery. Bradley did not win this fight. The crowd are booing. If Bradley wants it, I’m ready. He turned me down twice. After I beat [Danny] Garcia, I will offer Bradley the fight for the 3rd time.”

Khan seems to be a little unclear on the obstacles that would get in the way of a Bradley fight. Even if Bradley wanted to fight Khan, and he obviously does, he can’t because he fights for Top Rank and Khan fights for Golden Boy. That’s all that needs to be said. There probably won’t be a fight between Khan and Bradley until Bradley is no longer with Top Rank or Khan joins up with them so that the fight can be an in house fight.

The pro-Pacquiao crowd of course was booing the decision handed down by the judges last night, because these were Pacquiao fans after all. You could see that just by watching the action. The crowd cheered every time Pacquiao threw a punch. It didn’t matter whether Pacquiao would land or not, the crowd still cheered loudly for every swing. But when Bradley threw punches and landed, the crowd were completely silent. The true way of evaluating who really won the fight was to turn off the sound, which is what I did. When I turned the sound off, I had Bradley winning the bout by narrow margin. But when I watched with the sound on, I had Pacquiao winning because of all the screaming from Pacquiao’s fans each time he’d throw anything.

Khan continued “What a joke. We had Manny winning by 5 rounds. Bradley, how about you take the fight with me in December after I clean up at 140lbs weight.”

That’s disappointing that Khan had Pacquiao winning by five rounds. That tells you he watched the fight with the sound on, and was probably influenced by the crowd.

Even if Khan beats Garcia, he still won’t have cleaned up the light welterweight division. There’s still the following light welterweights that Khan would still have to fight before he’s cleaned up the division:

Tim Bradley
Mike Alvarado
Lucas Matthysse
Humberto Soto
Ajose Olusegun
Marcos Maidana – with a different referee that doesn’t step in to separate the action when Khan gets hurt
